American alternative rock band Imagine Dragons is almost back to the music spotlight. Finally! The guys has ready a brand new single entitled ‘Battle Cry‘. The song is confirmed as the main theme of upcoming science fiction action film based on the Transformers franchise, ‘Transformers: Age of Extinction‘, planned to be released in theaters on June 27th.
Imagine Dragons wrote the original main theme of the film which the film director Michael Bay used in critical points in the film. Additionally, the band contributed original music during the scoring process by recording cues with Steve Jablonsky, the film’s composer and Hans Zimmer, who assisted in the process. Bay said:"We’re incredibly lucky that Dan, Wayne, Ben and Daniel were available to work with us. I remember being drawn to the emotion of ‘Demons’ and ‘Radioactive’ the first time I heard those songs, and I knew I wanted that same energy and heart for this movie. They’ve created a really epic, otherworldly sound for ‘Battle Cry’"
Imagine Dragons will perform its new single live at the film’s worldwide premiere in Hong Kong, one of the locations in the film, on June 19th. ‘Battle Cry’ will be released on iTunes on June 2nd via KIDinaKORNER and Interscope Records.
In addition, the band are in the studio shaping their upcoming second studio album. According the band’s lead vocalist Dan Reynolds, their highly-awaited next full length will be different from their acclaimed debut ‘Night Visions‘ (2012).
