ZZ Top will release "La Futura" on September 11. The album will be the first by the legendary Houston trio since "Mescalero" nine years ago. The album is produced by Rick Rubin and ZZ's Billy F. Gibbons.
The album's first four songs premiered earlier this year as the digital EP "Texicali."
ZZT has tour dates set for the summer and fall. A Sept. 12 show in New York City suggests a hometown show is unlikely for the album's release. That said, the group cancelled a summer date in the area, so it seems likely a new date will find its way before year's end.
