Young Sweet Jones

Hot off the heels of his riot-inciting debut smash, Thank Me Later, rap’s rookie of the year Drake appears to be everywhere all of the time. Earlier today this little gem popped up on Young Money’s website with little fanfare. Young Sweet Jones is something of an odds-and-ends compilation, piecing together recent guest features, leftovers from the Thank Me Later sessions, and presumably, new material. Standout track “Do It All” features Drake rapping and singing over frenetic percussion and arpeggiated synths. “Right Above It,” the first salvo from Lil Wayne’s impending I’m Not a Human Being EP, also appears here, along with “Put It Down,” off Bun B’s Source anointed Trill O.G., and a remix of Thank Me Later's "The Resistance" touting a poignant guest verse from Massachusetts phenom Termanology. “Messages from You” is thought to be a taste of the R&B mixtape Drake has recently been threatening to release.
