Hailing from Kildare, Ireland, Mourning Beloveth were formed in 1992 by Darren Moore (vocals), Tim Johnson (drums), Brian Delany (bass), and Frank Brennan (guitar). The group plays ominous doom metal accented by melodic and atmospheric guitar work and vocals that alternate between deep growls and a soaring, Bruce Dickinson-style heavy metal wail. The band's first release was an untitled demo, recorded in eight hours in 1996, and in 1998 Mourning Beloveth released a second demo, Autumnal Fires. In 2001 the group teamed up with producer Magz to record its epic full-length debut, Dust, released on Sentinel. In 2002 they released The Sullen Sulcus on Aftermath, and quickly followed it up the following year with a split 7" with Lunar Gate on Sentinel. In 2004 the band signed to Grau, and the following year released A Murderous Circus. Mourning Beloveth released their fourth full-length album, A Disease for the Ages, on Grau in 2008.
