荷兰巫术系迷幻摇滚乐队
by Eduardo Rivadavia
Hailing from the Dutch city of Eindhoven, where they were first conceived in 2006 by guitarist Selim Lemouchi, the Devil's Blood hark back to the earliest sightings of '70s heavy metal (Black Sabbath, Uriah Heep, Leaf Hound) and the darker side of '60s psychedelia and folk (Coven, Comus, Black Widow, the 13th Floor Elevators) for the inspiration behind both their music and ritual-like concerts -- which usually see the bandmembers performing occult ceremonies drenched in blood! Before they ever set foot on-stage, however, Lemouchi and his hand-picked singer, F. the Mouth of Satan, collaborated on a set of demos that eventually paved the way for 2008's "Graveyard Shuffle" single and Come, Reap EP. The latter quite simply took the underground hard rock and metal scenes by storm, scoring the Devil's Blood a string of American dates in support of doom icons Pentagram at the start of 2009. This growing notoriety also led to an American deal with Profound Lore Records, which unleashed the band's debut album, The Time of No Time Evermore, in September 2009.
