Far From Over is a hard rock band from Central New York. Formed in June of 2011, Far From Over consists of Zac Birdslow (Vocals), Tyler Battist (Guitar), Zane Pointon (Drums) and Alex Carter (Bass). A band filled with a bunch of kids who just learned how to drive may sound like "just another garage band," but their achievements will deplete any stereotype available.
The band started out as just a cover band playing at bars in the countryside, but quickly grew. As many originals began to be written, Far From Over has began to be a known name in the Syracuse area for their amazing song writing and live shows.
In late February of 2012, Far From Over released a demo CD with 4 of their earliest originals. One of the songs, "Pass Away," has received a large amount of attention since its release. "Pass Away" has been featured on 95x as well as multiple internet radio shows. Far From Over has also released an exclusive shirt with an excerpt from "Pass Away" on the back. The fourth track on their demo, titled "Wicked Game," has also received play on multiple internet radio stations.
In the year of 2012, Far From Over has played many shows at multiple venues alongside bands such as Bobaflex, Fuel, Bad Axis, Art of Dying, Nonpoint (twice), Taproot, 12 Stones, Letters From the Fire, Eye Empire, Surrender the Fall and more.
With all of this success in a bit over a year, many people are wondering, "What's next?"
Far From Over is currently in the works of producing their second release, which has been confirmed to be called "Pass Away EP." It will include newly recorded versions of Pass Away, Wicked Game, and many new tracks that are expected to deliver similar results as their counterparts.
Far From Over has developed a great amount of momentum, and is showing no signs of stopping. Late 2012 and 2013 are looking very bright for this band.
