Without much variation, any growing underground music scene will attract and often encourage increasingly generic and unoriginal bands. Fortunately, a natural reaction to this mediocrity can occur among select bands that wish to retain the genuine and dignified character of their influences. In addition, these bands will also innovate and revitalize these stimuli into something provocative, modern, and in Revenances case, ruthlessly heavy.
They invoke, with stunning precision, the speed/death metal velocities of bands such as Suffocation and Dying Fetus, the heaviness and flow of Internal Bleeding, and devastating mosh of the Red Chord. To complement Revenances talented approach to brutality is their D.I.Y ethic and faithfulness to the unpolished rawness that is ever-present within their everyday arsenal.
Beginning in mid-2003, Revenace took the proper measures to articulate and refine their sound, focusing on the inherent complexities of combining thrashy tempos and a merciless vocal onslaught with intricate riffs and sporadic "deathdowns". Since then, theyve amassed a strong following and have shared stages will national acts such as Suffocation, All Shall Perish, and Despised Icon. Their debut LP, Omen of Tragedy is on Permeated Records. Revenance is now touring and writing thier second LP.
