Not to be confused with the contemporary '00s electronic act, nor the '70s psychedelic cult of Satan worshipers from England; Louisville, Kentucky's Black Widows featured vocalist Rob Pennington (ex-By the Grace of God), guitarist Ryan Patterson, bassist Evan Patterson (both formerly of National Acrobat), and drummer Thommy Browne (also ex-By the Grace of God). Forced to drop their obviously very popular moniker shortly after releasing 2002's Stops a Beating Heart E.P., the band renamed itself Black Cross and started fresh the following year.
