Kwabs’ sound combines smooth R&B with electro synths delicately nodding towards the 90s’ sonance, which is in no way a bad thing. For awhile it felt as though mainstream R&B artists have sacrificed the beseeching heart and loving acts for the lure of the dimly lit strip club and a few bottles of Henny. Kwabs’ sound may not be bluesy, but his brooding subject matter makes Kwabs a kindred soul to the broken hearted.
