High Five

When the producer offered Fabrizio Bosso to arrange and perform the pieces in this album ["Handful of Soul"], he accepted enthusiastically. He suggested to involve his band and to leave the arrangements of the tracks to Luca Mannutza and Pietro Ciancaglini. High Five front-line is comprised of Fabrizio Bosso on trumpet, winner of important awards in the category young Italian talent (Django d'Or 2002 and Top Jazz 1999); Daniele Scannapieco on tenor sax, winner of Django d'Or 2003, esteemed on the international jazz scene, courtesy of his collaborations with Dee Dee Bridgewater and Henri Salvador. Luca Mannutza, Pietro Ciancaglini and Lorenzo Tucci, respectively on piano, double bass and drums, form a solid rhythm section.

Strong and with an excellent interplay; capable of creating articulate patterns along with refined accompaniments where the two solo players can best express their flamboyant skills. Even though High Five have released yet only two albums (for the label Via Veneto Jazz), they encountered a big success in the most important jazz festivals like, Paris Jazz Festival, Umbria Jazz, Brianza Open Jazz, Clusone Jazz Festival and Teano Jazz.
