Hatched as a top secret initiative behind closed doors at a suburban Des Moines Pizza Hut, The Revolution Theory has evolved from a passing idea to the hip hop/rock masters that they are today. The Rev. theory combines the hip hop flow of MC Chapter 13 and the intricate yet brutal scratches of DJ ME, with the brutal percussion of Moses and Tennessee, and the intense riffs from Prof. Noize II and Johnny Wishbone. When added together, what may sound like a train wreck on paper, is in actuality a sonic masterpiece that remains fun while still being one of the most intense live shows one can experience.
The Revolution Theory began playing basement gigs and house parties during the summer of 1998, honing their skills and tightening their sound. In the Fall of 1998, they began playing local clubs and festivals, quickly earning themselves a name within the Central Iowa music scene. They have been honored with gigs at Budhafests 98 and 99 (local music festivals), a spot on the second stage of KKDM 107.5FM’s “Dot Fest 3” in June of 1999, and played benefit shows in Des Moines and Kansas City. They have also opened for a variety of acts, ranging from the Electric Hellfire Club, to the more “Rev. Theory” sounding Bolt Upright and the Step Kings.
