A British prog rock band somewhat reminiscent of Procol Harum, Fields were formed in 1971 by ex-Rare Bird organist Graham Field, former King Crimson and future Greenslade drummer Andy McCulloch, and guitarist and vocalist Alan Barry, who also spent some time in King Crimson. The group lasted about a blink of an eye, releasing one album (the self-titled Fields) on Epic Records (CBS Records in the U.K.) and a single in 1971 before calling it quits. The lone album, which some fans and critics have hailed as a lost masterpiece, was available for a time as a Sony Japanese-only CD. Epic Records finally released Fields officially on CD in 2006.
Members: Graham Field (piano, electric piano, organ), Alan Barry (vocals, classical guitar, electric guitar, bass, Mellotron), Andy McCulloch (drums, timpani, talking drum)
