I.U.D.

I.U.D. is Sadie Laska from Growing/Extreme Violence and Lizzi Bougatsos from Gang Gang Dance, and they are the best fucking band.

The duo have been collaborating since their Freshman orientation at Art School, and when Sadie returned to New York after a several year hiatus having learnt the drums (which Lizzi plays in Gang Gang as well as doing vocals), they made things official, drawing inspiration from drum circle and duel-drum bands like the Boredoms, OOIOO, Crash Worship and Big Business to make something with the same loose, intuitive rhythms as Gang Gang, but upping the gnarl stakes; kicking, spitting and writhing through those moves. Anyone who thought Gang Gang’s Saint Dymphna was too pop – I.U.D.’s debut album, The Perfect Sex, is out in March on Social Registry and is tailor-made for you.
