"Carry Me Home" was written in 1976.
History of the song: in interviews with bass player
at the time, Mark Evans, he has no recollection of
recording this song, nor Dirty Eyes, Fling Thing or Cold
Hearted Man. It was revealed many years later that
Angus, Malcolm and Bon entered the studio to lay
down some demos, possibly without Mark Evans or
Phil Rudd, and instead the bass and drum line may
have been recorded by either Harry Vanda or George
Young. Some even claim it could possibly be Bon
Scott on the drums. These songs mostly became
single releases as the B side to various AC/DC singles,
and other rumors circulate that this session may have
been the same infamous session where the unreleased
AC/DC song "I'm a rebel" hailed from, sung by brother
Alex Young. Alex made his brothers promise that, that
song would never be released, and it remains locked
in the Alberts vault. (Accept heard it, and made a
cover version of it)
It's not confirmed if that track was recorded during the
session these songs where or not, as claims have
been made that Angus, Mal and Bon recorded that
song without the presence of their producers Vanda &
Young.
Also some trivia; Bon Scott has said in several
interviews that this song (Carry Me Home) was his
favorite, and many believe it to be one of Bon抯
greatest that just wraps up his legend in a single song.

box set of Backtracks, along with all the other B-side
releases mentioned from this session, with the
exception of "I'm a Rebel"
