So here we have it, the most complete version I have
ever seen. It's one of my favourite songs, so I think an
accurate tab has been long overdue. And I think I
have nailed it. But as always, considerate corrections
are always welcome.
This is arranged for two guitars, and there's just no way
around it. Whenever I've seen it performed live, Chris
plays the acoustic bits while singing.
The vocals are there for those of you who find them
useful, but I got a friend to do them, so don't blame me
for any mistakes there. Although I think she did a pretty
good job.
Guitar was pretty straightforward, and I think it's fairly
mistake-free. Who knows about the solo though, the
echoing is something I've never chosen to emulate
myself, but feel free to experimate with your pedals. As
for the acoustic bits, I've done my best to make it
sound accurate, but it's a lot easier to actually play.
Also, if you have trouble with that crazy Aminor add9
chord, then try (x075000) out for size.
For the electric guitar, vibrato has been used in place of
tremolo, since my soundcard can't handle tremolo :)
Also, make sure that intro is heavily reverbed to get it to
sound right. I've given up trying to combine Tom's
bits with the acoustic bits to make it playable by one
guitarist, but by all means have a go, just don't send it in
as a correction :)
There are one or two fills that I have left out (I'm sure
you can figure out which ones) because whenever
possible, I like my tabs to be the live version. Just for
the all-out practicality (it's not often there are like, 5
other guitarists in your bedroom, now is it.)
Bass was a pain, and any tabs are nearly impossible to
find, but I think I've got it, as well as the variations at
the end of the bars.
Drums were ridiculously easy, the only thing you have
to worry about is getting bored. That clicking sound
to replace the snare drum at certain parts was hard to
do, so if you're a drummer, just experiment, I don't have
a clue.
