Created with Sheryl Crow, the features of this SJ are designed to deliver the warm voice of our classic Southern Jumbo with the additional projection and increased firepower of its predecessor, the Advanced Jumbo. Finished in a gorgeous, hand-sprayed custom Sunsetburst, this guitar is a standout. The SJ, as it first appeared in 1942, has a seductive story. The original was born as a tribute to the great music and musicians heralding from south of the Mason-Dixon line. That guitar was built to evoke the warmth, tradition, romance and culture of the Southern states. As a modern darlin’ of the South, the Sheryl Crow Southern Jumbo, is built to be the most expressive, dynamic Southern Jumbo ever released. The guitar, handcrafted by Gibson Acoustic in Bozeman, Montana, is built with an Adirondack red spruce top and mahogany back and sides, enhanced with an advanced bracing pattern for optimal acoustic resonance. Together these woods and construction techniques provide a blend of depth, richness and warmth with an unrivaled power and projection. Finished in a custom hand-sprayed Montana Sunsetburst, the top is edged in a multi-ply binding and a traditional double-ring soundhole rosette. Mother-of-pearl split-parallelogram inlays are handset in the fingerboard and the traditional gold script Gibson logo and pre-war banner decal are a tip of the hat to the originals. The SCSJ is set up with a custom, polished tortoise pick guard, Tusq end pin and open-backed Waverly™ nickel tuners with pearled buttons for excellent performance and a classic look. Each guitar includes a signed Certificate of Authenticity, Gibson Custom hardshell case with plush-lined interior, an owner's manual, Gibson's Gold Warranty and Gibson's 24/7/365 Customer Service. Handcrafted by the acclaimed luthiers of Gibson's acoustic facility in Bozeman, Montana, production is limited in 2013.
