Kutira & Raphael的艺人档案
Kutira and Raphael founded Kahua Records in 1992. It is an artist-owned independent record label that celebrates the merging of spirit and ecstasy in the body, and into everyday life. Their music is an offering towards the good of humanity, and begins in the heart. Kutira explains, “The heart is what carries into the universe. It is mature hearts that will bring ultimate ecstasy onto this planet.” As music composers they are renowned worldwide for their spiritual, shamanic, new Aegean ethnic recordings. Their inspiration is drawn from the spiritual traditions of many world religions, including the traditions of the Hawaiian people. Almost every week we get letters from healers and practitioners telling us how they used our music for yoga, Lomi Lomi massage, meditation, workshops, Tantra, birth, inter-dimensional communication and rituals. And we have just received a beautiful video of a woman giving a water birth of her baby to our music “The Calling”. All the undulations and movements corresponded exactly to the music. Also our music has been extensively used for death and dying by hundreds of people: “The last thing my mother heard is your music played over and over” (“Music to Disappear In”). Where does this music come from? Kutira is well known throughout the alternative healing movement as the master of ritual. There is a certain “specialness” when she officiates weddings, land blessings, pujas, concerts and more. She has a natural talent for bringing a mature love into a ceremony that everybody can relax in. She has been a student of many ethnic music healers including Kumuhula Auli’i Mitchell, learning ancient Hawaiian music, chants, dance and arts.
In the 1940′s and 50’s, Raphael was raised by a mother who was a deep intuitive on par with Edger Cayce. He had his first near-death experience at the age of 6. He was freely composing Vivaldi concertos at the age of 13. Starting at the age of 22, for the next ten years Raphael was a musician at the Esalen Institute in Big Sur, California, studying with and creating music for leading alternative innovators like Dr. J.C. Lilly, Gabriel Roth, Alan Cohen, Milton Trager, Allen Ginsberg, Alan Watts and more. He has become a much sought after musician who has always performed with a deep attitude of service. He has also done thousands of “psychic readings set to music”: if you were a piece of music this is how it would sound.
