The Chemicals Took Their Toll

I heard that they fight a lot
they would awake all the suffering
and the chemicals took their toll I believe
still for another faith
To say they’ll agree to a wedding vow
with the falling out from the same time we know

He held on for quite a while
with a place at the pharmacy on the way
To the clothing house down by Merchant’s Parade
but they found that they couldn’t find
All of medicine on the tray
and Friday night they had seen him inside

The story was that he resigned
Because the fevers were holding him every day
and he couldn’t make all those hours any more
