If someone tells you the samba is merely a beat
By just a song that you sing or a dance in the street
Don't even bother to listen if they say it's so
I tell you right now that the answer is "no"
If someone tells you the samba was born in the hills
Then it can bound just to give you a couple of thrills
Don't even bother to listen to people who guess
If they say it's love, then the answer is "yes"
