So, the origin of this squealing JFK makes shall remain
a mystery until we see DFA playing Gemini live, but it
can be one of his old tricks, that you can also hear in
Turn It Out, where he just pick scrapes the F string
above the pick-ups while standing near the amp, to
get the needed feedback. I have tried to get this noise
in an alternate way and the closest I could get to the
original was when I slid on the F string upwards with
my finger,
without pressing it to the fretboard and without picking,
approximately
above frets 6 to 13. So, you gotta hit that G string
twice, quickly mute all the strings with your picking
hand and do that F string slide.
