Lots of unison tones on adjacent strings are the result of Andy's experimenting with "tone color melody" in much the same way that Michael Hedges did with his song "The Happy Couple" and Billy McLaughlin did with "The Good Wife".
If you've ever attempted to learn this song via the official tab, then you'll know why a different version had to be made.
