附注:
This was tabbed completely by ear, starting with the
drums and bass. I listened to a guitar-less mix from
Rock Band 2 to help get those parts down then I
moved on to the guitars. Track info is listed below.
Thanks for choosing my tab!
Intro notes:
I think I've got it pretty close to how Robin played
the intro. On this track here I've also included some
synth parts and some other varied guitar parts that can
be heard nice and clear in the guitar-less Rock Band 2
mix.
Rhythm notes:
It's a simple riff, but there are multiple guitars doing
subtle variations of it. I made two rhythm tracks that
include the most obvious variations (including
Bumblefoot's fretless work in the verse). I may have
missed a few things here and there, but that can be
left up to improvisation (we're in D minor here) as
Bumblefoot tends to improvise live anyways.
Lead notes:
Robin's solo is pretty easy. Just plug in the wah and
really feel those bends. Buckethead's solo is more of a
challenge since he uses a Whammy pedal, so I've
given a bar by bar explanation of it at the bottom of the
info here.
Bass notes:
Good bassline that helps drive the song. Nothing
complex but it rocks hard! Grab a pick and enjoy. I
may have missed some subtle things that Tommy did
but this should give a general idea (no pun ntended) of
what's going on.
Drum notes:
I am not a drummer so some parts might be a little off.
Frank tends to play the ride cymbal a little heavier than
I have notated but it was hard to get the same sound
in Guitar Pro. The best solution would be to use this as
a guide while listening to the song to get the correct
accents.
Now, onto the Buckethead solo:
First, get a Whammy pedal (they are loads of fun).
Next, set it on the one octave jump. Third, follow this
explanation to help with the strange notation.
Bar 89 - it was hard to notate, but on the notes that
have the little "6" above them, rock the pedal all the
way forward. Take a listen to the song for a better idea
of the sound and feel.
Bar 90 - I tabbed this so it would sound right. It's
actually acheived by hitting the first note (the bent 12th
fret) only and slowly rocking the pedal forward while
using a killswitch. If you don't have a killswitch (or a
Whammy pedal for that matter), play it as I have
notated and it should give a similar sound.
Bar 91 - This should look familiar.
Bar 92 - Ignore the crude notation. Just hit the 15th fret
and rock the pedal forward and then back again.
Bars 93 & 94 - No pedal here, just have fun with these
little licks.
Bar 95 - This will be a bit tricky to explain but I'll try my
best. Quickly rock the pedal forward and back while
picking each of these notes (it might help to listen to
the recording). Again, ignore the crude notation. Also,
don't play the 15th fret as indicated. Keep the 13th fret
bend and then just rock the pedal forward. The 15th
fret was used just so playback would sound correct.
Bar 96 - No pedal here either. This part isn't entirely
accurate but it's pretty close. Just do a fast run like this
and you should be pretty well there!
Enjoy! Thanks again for choosing my tab.
