CORRECTIONS BY MATMILLOO:
I corrected the bass track & added the two voices
(Kiedis & Frusciante). Also, I used the chord tool to
make the guitar track easier to read. Apart from that, I
didn't touch the guitar & drums, both tabbed by
gi0vanni. The original bass track was made by
gi0vanni, too, & it was already quite good.
Thanks for downloading the tab from this great song, &
if you happen to be into drums &/or guitar (well, even
bass...), there are still corrections to be made!
NOTES:
(*) Kiedis sings "but your wife, my lover my lady..."
This is obviously a mistake. Indeed, he sings it the right
way in the third chorus.
(+) This outro is just a regular instrumental jam. It's
difficult to tab it right, but you get the idea... improvise!

& there's a port,
on a western bay.
& it serves
a hundred
ships a day.
Lonely
sailors
pass the
time away,
and
talk a bout their homes.
There's a girl
in this
harbour town.
& she works
a-layin'
whiskey down.
They say:
"Brandy,
fetch an -
- other round!"
She
serves 'em whisky 'n wine.
The sailors say "Brandy,
you're a fine..."
"What a
good
wife
You would be."
"& your eyes
could steal a sailor
from the sea."
Brandy
wears a
braided chain,
made of
finest
silver from the
north of Spain.
A
locket
that
bears the name
of the
man that Brandy loved.
He
came
on a
summer's day.
Bringing gifts
from far away.
You know he
made it
clear
he
couldnt stay.
No
harbor was his home.
The sailor said "Brandy,
you're a fine..."
"What a
good
wife
you would be."
"But my wife,
my lover, my lady, [(*) See notice]
is the sea."
Yeah Brandy
used
to
watch
his
eyes,
as she told
the sailor stories.
She could
feel
the ocean foam
rise,
as she saw
her raging glory.
Now,
he had always told
the truth,
Lord, he
was an honest man.
&
Brandy does her best
to understand.
At
night,
when the bars close down,
Brandy walks
through a silent town.
She loves a man
who's
not around.
She
still can hear him say -
She hears him say: "Brandy,
you're a fine... "
"What a
good
wife
you would be."
"But my wife,
my lover, my lady,
is the sea - ea - ea."
"Yeah, Brandy,
you're a fine... "
"What a
good
wife
you would be."
"But my wife,
my lover, my lady,
is the sea - ea - ea."
" ...is the sea - ea - ea."
